Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club joins JASHIE as a Sporting Partner
JA Network is delighted to welcome the Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club as a Sporting Partner of the Japan–Australia Sports & Health Innovation Exchange (JASHIE).
Located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore SLSC is home to one of Australia’s leading surf sports programs, where athletes train and compete in dynamic ocean environments at branch, state, national, and international levels. The club’s high-performance pathway combines elite athletic preparation with the real-world demands of surf lifesaving.
Through this partnership, JASHIE delegation participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the club as a real-world innovation testbed.
Startups and technology partners will be able to explore opportunities to:
• Test and validate solutions in demanding outdoor conditions – including heat, UV exposure, sand, and saltwater environments - ideal for technologies such as wearables, environmental sensors, and durable hardware.
• Collaborate with coaches and athletes on innovations in performance analysis, biomechanics, training tools, and athlete load management.
• Trial event and operational technologies during surf sports carnivals, including athlete tracking, digital timing and results platforms, event logistics systems, and beach safety tools.
Surf lifesaving uniquely combines high-performance sport, community safety operations, volunteer coordination, and large-scale event delivery, creating a powerful environment for startups to stress-test technologies designed for global sport and outdoor performance markets.
We look forward to introducing our Japanese delegation to the Maroochydore team during the JASHIE Queensland program this March.
